does anybody of you have experience with ELISA kits by Cloud-Clone Corp.? I'm particularly interested in SEA108Mu (OPG-ELISA) and SEA855Mu (RANKL-ELISA).
I did not try your specific OPG- or RANKL-ELISAs, but i did tested for Osteocalcin with the SEA471Mu Kit. It did work actually, the standards dilutions concentrations and the best fit curve were measured and calculated correctly.
Though there are two things about Cloud-Clone ELISAs I want to mention. Firstly, I had a fungal contamination in one of the buffers (Assay Diluent A), which was closed and stored correctly until use. Since the expiration date of the kit was still 2 months ahead, this does not speak in favor of the kit. Though steril filtration of the buffer did not affected the outcome of the assay, i suppose.
Secondly, a colleague had no success with a ELISA kit for PDGF.
In any case, I cannot comment on your kits directly. If you are interested in Osteoclast activity, you could alternatively try assaying for TRAP 5. Good luck!
In our lab we had very varying experience with ELISA-Kits by Cloud-Clone. This is why I was asking for those two special ones. Actually we are not directly interested in OC activity but in the main regulating inpulses that are responsible for OC formation and activation.
