Pertaining to the study "Diagnostic Efficacy of Serological Antibody Detection Tests for Hepatitis Delta Virus: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis" by Pan et. al (2023), they discussed the diagnostic efficacy of various immunoassays (RIA, EIA, ELISA) for Hepatitis D Virus in terms of sensitivity and specificity. I am wondering whether this tests also offer reduced occupational health hazard for the Medical Technologist like contracting the virus.

To answer your question; the three Immunoassays (RIA, EIA, ELISA), generally has their risks or health hazards which includes: exposure to chemicals, improper waste disposal and contact with biohazard substances (especially dealing with a Hepatitis Delta virus sample based on the study of Pan et al.) These potential risks may likely occur due to negligence or carelessness of the clinician or the Medical Technologist. However, with RIA (Radioimmunoassay), it requires the use of radioisotopes and radioactivity for determining antibody levels which increases the risk of exposure to radiation.
