While recording the signals from a primate using a head stage device we are getting 40 microvolt noise.
We would like to reduce this noise under the conditions :
1. We don't want to use more preamps since we are also stimulating and would like to continue with it.
2. The connectors that are provided by the company are costume designed so we are not able to change the configurations.
Does anyone working in the same field have any suggestions how to improve SNR?
We are recording the spikes using our electrodes. The electrodes are bi-functional (acquisition/stimulation).
The connectors which are provided are either with amplifier (with them we can't stimulate) or without amplifiers(with which the acquired signal has this unwanted signal of approx 40 microV.)
Since our signals are in micro volt range we would like to design an additional connector-add on with the amplifiers on some channels (acquisition) and nothing on others (stimulation) that can solve this problem.
So if someone has some suggestions regarding how we can design such addon circuit without adding further noise to the current scenario ? Which amplifiers (like instrumentation amp or others can be used ) or some other ideas
You might want to figure out the frequencies in which this noise happens. Then, you can filter those out however you want. If you already know however, let us know.
