I have data of soil respiration from a Li-8100 CO2 flux meter. How do I get the data from the instrument and how do I calculate CO2 flux from the data? As I understand the data is in micro mol/mol. I have used the formula given in the manual but i dont seem to get the correct value.

A flux is expressed as a mass per unit of time. For example for CO2 in umol/s or umol/min not in umol/mol because that's a concentration.
That"s where you went wrong. Check your instrument and its flow rate. The product of concentration times flow rate is a flux.
