Does anyone have experience using methyl orange to monitor silylation by MSTFA?

Does someone have experience using methyl orange to monitor silylation by MSTFA? I found an old article by Donike (Journal of Chromatography, 115 (1975) 591-595) proposing the addition of a small amount of methyl orange solution to the silylation medium in order to monitor the completeness of the reaction. Nevertheless I couldn't find any article using this technique.
