The natality rate of Baboons(Bapio Anopus) in the Dinder National Park (Sudan) is high and there is growing demand to correct the situation for the present population by using biological methods, like re-introduction of leopards in the park.

I suggest one possible method which may be expensive; rearing and breeding leopard who is interested in baboon meat rather than other victims.
I agree with Dr. Abdelrahim, but the problem is that the re-introduction of animals is long term process, which needs lots of money in one hand. In the other hand it has lots of impacts and risks
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been facing problems of commensalism due to groups of Hamadryas baboons. They tried culling or translocation: this doesn't work on the long-term unless you destroy the entire group. But even in tis case, the chances are high that another group will come and occupy the vacuum. Something that can work though is to vasectomise the males (not sterilize coz if you sterilise a male is is loosing his secondary sexual characteristics and cannot monopolise the females of the unit any more). Vasectomy can be done surgically (invasive) or chemically (non invasive) by using formalin.
To increase predator numbers to a level at which they will have an impact on baboon population would be a long process.
Other prey animals would have to occur in sufficient numbers to ensure a high survival rate of lion/leopard offspring.
I would expect that culling of entire baboon groups will have to be considered after all. Possibly as one action in a multi level approach....

Culling? yes but baboons can hide from the hunters. Personal experiences in Shai Hills in Ghana, is that the day one baboon falls they will never be seen for a long time. I therefore suggest the predator prey relationship as a long term solution. The culling will change the behavior of the baboons.
I agree with James Agyei-Ohemeng in that hunting will not have the desired effect. Trapping/sedating is a better approach. The ultimate goal would have to be to increase leopard population. The reasons for the decline in predator numbers within the area will need to be addressed first (poisoning by pastoralist, poaching of prey animals ....).
Culling won't work on the long time. The only long time solution would be to limit the growth of your population.
I guess the real question is why are the baboons seen as a problem? Are they having a negative impact on some other species, or perhaps on local peoples? If you can identify the problem, you may be able to come up with an appropriate wildlife management solution. This may or may not include culling. If you want to cull just because there is a perception of a high population, then I would argue this isn't really a basis for control.
Have you tried to cull the population already? In some areas when you cull juveniles the population growths instead of getting reduced. Do you have population data of your area?

With an excess of any animal it is important to understand which predator has the best control over their numbers while also assess that predator's influence on the ecology and functioning of the immediate environment.
I agree with previous answers that with the introduction of leopards into the area it could become a very costly expense, and if you were to breed a population large enough to control the baboon numbers it would be a very long and hard process.
The best option would be to vasectomize the males in the population as this would be a once off process, opposed to the option of putting the females on a "pill".
If the population is unable to increase for a certain length of time, until the juveniles become reproductively active, then this in conjunction with an increased leopard population will help to keep the population under control.
Unfortunately, I think that there is not simply just one solution, but rather a mix of the previously mentioned answers should be used. As the population should be controlled from multiple aspects rather than just one.

But, is it practical the use of vasectomy technique for large population of males? I would like to know if there is another technique based on reproductive hormonal inhibitors. How, where and when this technique used?

As we know, large cats give multi-birth within almost short time (150 days). The new comer will be self-dependent 16 days later (i.e. interact with the surrounding) . When a programme of rearing and breeding under captivity is held for leopards, kids of leopards will be released in the Park thereafter, the consumed time for the process will be short and the cost became low

Culling and transportation of baboon is not useful in case of Dinder National Park (Sudan). That is because the population there is dense enough to abort the operation. Another thing concerned with vasectomy of male baboon, we think the process is not practical when the population density is at optimum. In regard to the Sudan Wildlife Law and Articles, 1986 culling is prohibited issue due to the presence of such animal species inside the National Park.
