You can consult following books for having knowldsge about family noctuidae
Andrew Mitchell, Charles Mitter, Jerome C. Regier (2006). "Systematics and evolution of the cutworm moths (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae): evidence from two protein-coding nuclear genes". Systematic Entomology 1 (31): 21–46.
Weller, S. J., Pashley, D. P., Martin, J. A., and Constable, J. L. (1994). "Phylogeny of noctuoid moths and the utility of combining independent nuclear and mitochondrial genes". Systematic Biology 43 (43): 194–211
There are recently published many papers and books covering this region. Look in Hesperiana or the monograph on the link: heterocera.net/books/the-witt-catalogue-taxonomic-atlas-series
Two key global papers defining current Noctuidae / Noctuoidea classification were led by Reza Zahiri (he's on ResearchGate, as are his papers if I recall correctly); these paper are:
Zahiri, R., Kitching, I. J., Lafontaine, J. D., Mutanen, M., Kaila, L., Holloway, J. D. & Wahlberg, N., 2010. A new molecular phylogeny offers hope for a stable family level classification of the Noctuoidea (Lepidoptera). Zoologica Scripta 40: 158-173.
Zahiri, R., Lafontaine, J. D., Schmidt, B. C., Holloway, J. D., Kitching, I. J., Mutanen, M. & Wahlberg, N., 2013. Relationships among the basal lineages of Noctuidae (Lepidoptera, Noctuoidea) based on eight gene regions. Zoologica Scripta 42: 488-507. doi:10.1111/ zsc.12022
As well as the Hesperiana and Witt Museum papers mentioned by Stanislav Gomboc, papers of noctuoid faunistic content for the subcontinent should be searched for in journals such as Journal of Threatened Taxa, Taprobanica, Journal of the Bombay Natural History Society and ZooKeys. I have listed some (i.e. not comprehensive) online Lepidoptera articles for India on the IndianMoths Facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/notes/indianmoths/publications-on-the-indian-moth-fauna-available-online/666205913414863. There are also six volumes of Moths of Nepal (ed. T. Haruta), published as supplements in the journal Tinea (between 1992 and 2000). Within these volumes there are substantial papers on noctuids.
Additionally, you might like to look at the website for the 3rd Asian Lepidoptera Conservation Symposium, held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, in 2010 - you could find some of the papers and links of use.
