I was planning to take the approach of separating Cr (III) and Cr (VI) using ion exchange resins (offline separation) and then measuring total chromium using solution ICP-MS. Has anyone tried using this method or a similar approach to measure the speciation of Cr in water extracts obtained from leaching of fly ash (or other aqueous samples with high pH)? If yes, could you please point me in the direction of reports/publications.
