Pickering Labs has the procedure for post-column derivatization with vanillin on their Web site. While they are doing it post-column I would imagine that you could do it priro to injection as well.
Bruce Neagle: can you please read the question again, then look back at your answers and maybe you will see once again that you misread, answered too quickly and basically your advice has no meaning.
Mr. Krause is right, you will find a good application note at the website of Pickering Labs.
Mr krause, for pre column I was using the DNP derivatization and in this case should be done prior to injection, I don,t think that if I use vanillin I could do it prior as well.. at least I couldn´t find any article about this.,.thank you very much for your answer Mr Krause and Mr Keyser, I appreciate it. I will take a look on the website.
I would assume that if you want to do pre-column derivatization with vanillin, you will have to implement some clean-up steps. If possible, post-column should be considered.
