I am researching, if an ayurvedic procedure is helpful in managing lower back pain. This is called Kati Basti or Kati Vasti or Grdhrasi Basti. I will create a study to treat patients with this kind of treatment. But there is nothing mentioned in the old texts. So this type of thing must be a creation out of something different... I don´t know, if somebody is there who have ever heard of it. But let´s see what will come around :)
There is no direct reference. Only shirobasti ref is there , based on this only Kati, janu, grweva bastis came into practice

These are the procedures added in Ayurvedic literature very recently by recent Ayurvedic practitioners. These procedures are not main procedures but these are the sub-procedueres mainly used externaly for local complaints.
This seems to be modified Purva Karma (Preparatory procedure) for the Pradhan Karma ( Main procedure) of Pachakarma Therapy.
