Does anyone has the protocol for saliva culture using ChromAgar?

Hello.

I am working on a new project which profiling oral candidal species using ChromAgar from saliva. I am unfamiliar with this technique and the reference seems scarce and has limited info. Does anyone willing to share the protocol or knowledge regarding this technique?

Dear Masita,

We have isolated Candida albicans from orophayngeal washings, saliva, and oral lesions on Pal sunflower seed medium and also on Chrom agar. The former medium was developed by us in 1980 primarily to isolate Cryptococcus neoformans from environmental and clinical samples.You can use our Pal sunflower seed medium to recover C.albicans from saliva.Our medium is very cheap, easy to prepare ,and readily available.You can download our papers on Pal sunflower seed medium from Research Gate.
