Can recommend or make comments about the feasibility to use this kind of equipment in the field ?

Can you describe the physics of the 3D scanner, or manufacturer of the instrument you are using? There are several methods available for estimating density (acoustic, gravity, radioactive sources). How large of an area are you covering?
Dear Dale, Thank you for your offer to help. I post this question to ask people that have experience in evaluation bulk density of soil clods or aggregates. These clods may vary from different soil classes from 2-5 cm to around 10 cm of "diameter". They do not have an regular geometric form. I thought to use 3D scanners to estimate the volume of the scanned clods. But some 3D fabricants told me that to scan and visualize an object in 3D will be only the first step to estimate its volume. Many of them do not have software to estimate volume from scanned objects. I know that soil bulk density can be measured by others methods. We used gravimetric and volumetric approach. By now I'm interested in portable 3D scanners if you do have any suggestion in this topic... I thanks in advance
