Does anybody have experience with preparation of Cu-IDA sepharose?

I have made this metal affinity gel as described by porath, but the gel color is not as blue as Ni-NTA and I think it lost most of the CuSO4 after washing with water. I have tried different protocols for sepharose activation and IDA binding to the activated-sepharose. I would be delighted to know whether it is normal appearance for this kind of metal affinity gel.
