I am trying to make a PVA phantom with the same mechanical properties as a major artery like aorta carotis. The final goal is to use ultrasound to determine flow in obstructed arteries. I have been told that PVA might be a way to go and am therefore looking for someone who has tried the freeze/thaw process.
In my experience, freezing/thawing method of PVA solution usually produce hydrogel of because of hydrogen between segments. I am not clear about the question.

In my research on the web i have found people that have made a PVA phantom that holds the mechanical properties of human tissue using the freeze/thaw process on the gel. however i can not find a detailed description on how they made. For how long it should be in the freezer, how many freeze cycles ect.
And that what I am trying to figure out - maybe through some wise people in here:)
