Charbel: Didn't the Holy Spirit mention to you that software piracy was illegal, and that it deprived people of their livelihoods? Please don't post links to pirate software, and please pay for what you use.
I notice that you have a chapter on ethics and marketing. This is kinda ironic.
Please don't link pirate software sites. I am sure you expect to be paid for your work, Terans, and not to have it stolen, and the folks who produce SPSS have the same right.
There is a group developing a free SPSS_like package called PSPP. YOu will find their page here: https://www.gnu.org/software/pspp/
There's a Wikipedia entry on free statistical software and also a good review page here: http://www.predictiveanalyticstoday.com/top-free-statistical-software/
Luke, does JASP have the equivalent of SPSS syntax (or Stata DO files)? Or is it purely point and click? I was unable to determine this by looking at the features and FAQ page on the website. Thanks.
JASP looks elegant, and is clearly intent on developing some serious functionality. I worry about the point and click aspect of it. It does little to encourage good practice. It also doesn't seem, as yet, to do data manipulation!

I'd be surprised if your university doesn't offer a free version of SPSS to use or provide training on the software. I know this question was asked a while ago, however for help with software, everyone should consult with their IT department first at their institutions.
