K. pneumoniae is responsible for most human infections among members of the genus Klebsiella and one of the most important multi-drug resistance (MDR) microorganisms worldwide. The species K. pneumoniae include three subspecies (subspecies pneumoniae, ozaenae, and rhinoscleromatis). Does anyone know PCR or other tools to differentiate between the closely related three subspecies?
