I am solving problem on stress-strain state calculation of steel cruciform specimen under biaxial loading taking into account large plastic deformations using multilinear isotropic hardening diagram. In uniaxial tension case I am obtaining good correlation with experimental results, and in biaxial case (tension + compression) obtained results show noticeably less correlation. Can it be due to that ANSYS doesn’t take into account change of Poisson’s ratio during large plastic deformations?
No, Poisson's ratio is a true material property that does not change unless you change the nature of the material.
For stresses within the elastic range, the Poisson's ratio is constant. ANSYS doesn’t take into account change of Poisson’s ratio within plastic range.
