I observe that when I fold up a piece of paper and wave it in front of my dog, she is scared because in the past I have beaten her with a folded paper. But when I wave a knife in front of her, she is not scared because her experience teaches her that a knife is not a threat although she knows that this knife can slice up meat (she saw me slice meat with this knife). But she does not transfer this observation into the logic that the kife is more dangerous than a piece of paper.

My question is: does AI behave like my dog? Does it learn via training data but does not connect all the dots? Any stretegy to solve this? Thanks
