I've been using this anti-TrkB antibody in studies involving the activation of TrkB by BDNF. When I called Abcam to ask if it also binds p-TrkB, I was told that they've never tested it, and have no idea whether it does or does not. Has anyone tested whether this antibody (ab18987) binds phosphorylated TrkB?

I have not used it. But most probably it will not work on phospho trkB as the specificity have not been given by the company. And also the sequence and active sites may have sterical influence for the reactivity.

I would say the answer is yes. Most likely it will bind both phosphorylated and unphosphorylated TrkB.
Nevertheless, If your TrkB phosphorylation site of interest is contained within the peptide sequence used to immunize (sinthetic peptide surrounding aa 810 of human TrkB, abcam web page) there's a chance the antibody may only interact with the unphosphorylated form of the protein due to sterical hindrance.
