Wow....what an alarming question....and a question that needs a very thorough answer.....which I will probably not be able to give.....time and space available taken into consideration.

However, allow me to firstly point to the fact that the above mentioned article from Chadwick states a number of factors necessary to secure a more succesfull attempt to eliminate (or significantly reduce) the number of child abuse cases, including the phenomenon of under reporting. This also indicates that the roots of this problem is of a psychological respectively cultural nature. So, if everyone stopped reporting it, there would be no more child abuse. Do you see the predicament?

It does, however, seem to be quite an outstanding problem, and the solution lies in identifying the mechanisms and the accompanying behavioural patterns. This alone is quite a task and will be obstructed by the very same mechanisms. I do agree, though, that there is hope, and it seems that the numbers are in decline.

This is a work in progress, and though there have been a great improvement in Child protection in many parts of the world, there are still many tasks to have all the stakeholders share such a great ambitious dream of "children living in abuse - free world".

Children abuse is always increasing

Child abuse in Society reflects on the Society.

The first step would be to come to an agreement on what constitutes "child-abuse."

Beyond the extremes, I doubt if this is possible.

Is hitting a child the same as abusing it? If so, most parents throughout human history have been child abusers at one time or another.

As society becomes richer we indulge our children in everything. Some say giving a child everything he wants is child abuse - as it fails to teach him that life can be a struggle.

The great French chemist Lavoisier was 30+ when me married a girl of 14 and American poet Edgar Allen Poe was 30+ when he married a girl of 13. Was this child abuse? No one complained at the time.

Child abuse includes neglect, physical and emotional mistreatment, and sexual abuse.

If society does not regard such sickness as preventable, that is shameful.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that it is decreasing....

The question rather is: is the total eradication of child abuse in all it's forms achievable and possible around the world?

To answer this question in a Yes or No way does great disservice to the enormity of the issues surrounding the question in all jurisdictions of the world.

Whether or not the wellbeing, security and prosperity of children around the world will turn around for good DEPENDS COMPLETELY ON each State's approach to the problem question.

Burning issues like Paedophila, Child Trafficking, Child Labour, Child Pornography, Illiteracy, Sub human living, socioeconomic conditions, Violence against Children and Minors (Persons under the age of majority), Children in Conflict with the Law, Violent Rape, Abortion of Born Alive babies or babies "deemed to be invalid", Forced Child Soldiers in war times, Child Slavery, Child or Infant Genital Mutilation, Child Bride Marriages enforced by traditions and religious injunctions, Child Abuse in form of extreme physical violence, Sexualization of Children by Transgenderism, Sex Change or Gender reassignment Surgery for kids, Child sex grooming gangs and criminal organizations e.t.c.

In the West, it is the Governments of western Europe championing the deliberate sexualization and abuse of kids.

Yet these monstrous evils are happenings around the world and in jurisdictions that have laws against some of these shocking revelations.

Some of the world's renown Elites, billionaires, Celebrity figures, political leaders, religious figures, Cult figures, in the world today are directly or indirectly connected to these extreme vices against children.

How is the law going to respond to this situation where there exists amongst ordinary citizens, persons who the law regard as UNTOUCHABLES or persons who get a slap in the wrist when caught in the act?

To answer the question, it is imperative that we determine how the law in various jurisdictions, has structured its statutory framework on the protection of children. If there's no conformity or consensus on the characterization of these varying levels of child abuse, as MONSTROUS AND THEREFORE DESERVING OF VERY SERIOUS SOCIETAL, LEGISLATIVE, EXECUTIVE AND JUDICIAL ATTENTION, the ideals of How a society should treat its Children, would be a mere Rhetoric; a Lip Service, a grandstanding act of hypocrisy and a Betrayal of our humanity!

As it stands, no such consensus exists, and therefore it is an uphill task to accomplish a mitigation or an eradication of all forms of child abuse identified above!

If there exists an international consensus with the political drive, as well as as an international political commitment to deal with this distasteful picture of events, we will only witness an increased clampdown on the activities of very bad people who enjoy and have pleasure in the tears of crying children held in one sort of bondage or the other in this world.

We can, and we must.

Child abuse is a sourge on society and cannot be tolerated.
