I would like to conduct my independent research on psychotherapy processes of individuals with pathological narcissism. I would really appreciate if you can share your contacts who gather video-recordings of adult psychodynamic psychotherapy sessions. I would like to collaborate with researchers who are willing to share the video recordings of therapy sessions (with a strict consideration of ethical limits) for coding according to various measures and publishing a shared journal article.

Best to you on this research. I offer a few clinical observations. I refrain from using "pathological" or "malignant" narcissism. All disordered personalities are pathological in degrees. The US POTUS is a clear example of someone who exhibits narcissistic personality disorder w/ prominent antisocial traits.and presents as a clear and present danger to others. See "Analyze This" w/ Robert DeNiro as a mob boss, and Billy Crystal as his therapist. For the most part it is a comedy yet highlights the challenge, transference and countertransference.

My rationale behind using 'pathological' narcissism was Kohut's formulation of narcissism. According to his theory, not every narcissistic tendencies are pathological, so he makes a distinction. My research project mainly focuses on self-object needs which is hypothesized to be unfullfilled in individuals with 'pathological narcissism' as he used the term in his theory.
