At the moment it is very expensive, the price of 1 kg of hydrogen is from $ 2-5. Are there any prospects for green hydrogen? or will we extract hydrogen from gas?
what promising technologies can be competitive on the market now?
there are many so-called developed and developing technologies for hydrogen production like steam reforming of bioethanol, water electrolysis, etc. but the problem is storage.
Hi! Very interesting question. I address this issue on my PhD thesis and I published a paper about green H2 use in gas turbines. The highlights of this paper are:
-Green hydrogen is competitive at $0.9 per kilogram.
-Current electrolysers does not reach this value, even for zero cost of electricity renewables.
If you are interested in this paper I can share to you!
I consider in my work the effect of hydrogen on the operation of a gas turbine. The priority, of course, is a system of hydrogen consumption immediately from the place of production
