always we exam our student by McQ test so many colleagues think that is suitable to measure scientific level of any student, but there other colleagues think that not useful to measure scientific level of students because it sometimes depend on luck.
Give me your opinion about this subject.

Certainly McQ is not luck , I have given some challenging questions (McQ) for my grad-students , based on their inputs , no it is not !!!! It can be made exhaustive, analytical and reasoning based.
Coming to essay type - it needs a skill to write so it might be a bit of challenge, yet is beneficial since it greatly improves writing skill .
In 12th grade in India , long ago I had both these exams that was 50% accounted for entering into professional degrees . It was/is a competitive field even to this day ...
Thank you for the invitation. I think that the 'McQ test' may be appropriate to evaluate the 'scientific level of any student', if it is well-structured. I do not know if this test is the best one for the student, but, it may be the best one for the teacher, because, thus, they save time in the evaluation process of the students.

Multiple-choice questions are hard to set but are always reliable to assess. My initial assumption that they weren’t rigorous was wrong: it depends on how they are set.
Paul Bambrick Santoyo makes the following case:
--In an open-ended question, the rubric defines the rigour

Do you think the McQ test is the best one? and why?
Think Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) test is not the best test due to its limitations as shared by Chalamalla above. That's why certain subject testing schemes are combining MCQ test with open ended question test.
However, most of the industrial certification tests like PMP, CISSP, TOGAF, MCSE etc. are based on MCQ test - the only industrial certification that is based on open ended question test that I'd undertaken was ITIL v2 Manager (there were 2 subjects, each subject required candidate to answer 7 / 8 open ended questions in 3 hours).
I also discovered some MCQ tests are not that straight forward. Some MCQ questions & answers can be very tricky & lengthy e.g. each optional answer is a paragraph thick - with 5 optional answers & the question itself will occupy the entire A4 size paper. This will take time for a candidate to read through the whole thing before selecting the right answer (e.g. of this MCQ test is TOGAF Level 2 exam). Some MCQ tests also come with very similar answers & required a candidate to complete the test in a very short time whereby the test also allow the candidate to do it as an open book exam (e.g. of this MCQ test is CCSK).
So by altering the quantity & length of the question & answers, similarity of the answers & the limited timing to answer all the questions can make MCQ a daunting test for candidate.
yes, Every form of testing and measurement has some advantages and disadvantages.But, there should be variations in MCq's for measurement based on knowledge, understanding, applications ,analysis and synthesis.These should cover all aspects.
I support MCQ patterns based exams. A MCQ pattern based exam having high standard questions is the best way to judge the knowledge of the students/ applicants.
As per my opinion MCQ test is best one. Because of it measure the level of thinking and students conceptual knowledge is increased.
Thanks in advance I think MCQ is helpful, but we can use other tools for assessment.

Multiple Choice Questions MCQ have items:
Easy to write (?), easy to grade, guessing is high
Good alternate choice tests are actually difficult to write
Many objectives can be tested quickly
Write items definitely
Use short statements
Avoid absolutes (always, all, never, only)
Alternatives: tend, generally, usually
You may require revision of false statements (underline & revise)
Trick questions are seldom appropriate
Avoid double negatives
Highlight or emphasize negatives
Avoid double-barreled items
Write approximately equal numbers of each alternative
Keep statements the same approximate length
Avoid a systematic order
Avoid taking statements directly from the text and placing them out of context
Use other symbols other than T/F, G/O, O/Q, N/M
T F - High IQ children always get high grades in school
Guns should not be outlawed unless they are never fired

Indeed it is one of the best choices. However, we must not relay totally on one type of exams only to avoid weakness points in one type by strength points in another.
