The Galilean relativity is based on a principle of invariance defined by the Principle of Relativity that claims:
"Laws of physics and associated equations are invariant for all reference frames that are inertial with respect to a reference frame supposed at rest".
Einsteinian General Relativity is based instead on a principle of covariance that affirms "it is possible to write laws of physics with respect to any reference frame, inertial and non-inertial".
Einsteinian Special Relativity then is based besides on the principle of relativity also on the postulate of constancy of the speed of light, that doesn't exist in the Galilean Relativity.
It is manifest that there are great differences between the Galilean Relativity and the Einsteinian Relativity.
Galilean Relativity means that all laws of mechanics remain the same in inertial reference frames (i.e., those frames moving with constant velocity relative to each other; so that the law of inertia applies).
In his Special (or Restricted) Relativity(1905), Einstein extended Galileo's (and Newton's) Principle of Relativity to all laws of physics, including laws of electrodynamics (by getting rid of the absolute frame of reference, namely, the ether).
Then, in 1916, Einstein generalized this 'restricted' relativity (i.e., restricted to inertial reference frames) to accelerating frames. The resulting theory is, of course, his General Theory of Relativity in which he introduced the principle of equivalence, whereby the acceleration of the noninertial frame is 'equivalent' to the acceleration due to gravity. Thus, Einstein's General Theory is essentially a theory of universal gravitation.

Why is Einstein's General Theory about gravitation? The principle of equivalence essentially says gravity is the same as acceleration. So why should it not be a theory of universal acceleration? Why should we continue to think of gravity as something other than acceleration? Why is 'gravity' still 'a thing' - rather than all references to 'gravity' being replaced with references to acceleration?

The Galilean relativity is based on two primary platforms. The principle of invariance and principle of variability. First is claiming that all laws of mechanics remain the same in inertial (acceleration zero or “resting”) reference frames. Second, assume the difference between the accelerating and resting frame of references. Based on the observation of just gravitational force, with the progress of knowledge, both principles reveal the validity for many other forces of nature.
