This is a great question and ambitious project! I am convinced that there is a link. You may want to be very clear on the level of analysis and the perspective you want to defend. It is difficult to study the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the organizational level. Other scholar use other types of ecosystems such as platforms ecosystems, organisation's business ecosystem etc. Good luck!

Tapping into a an ecosystem (entrepreneurial, innovation, commercialization or other) certainly has its place Service Business Development strategy, as it is in particular required if your business is interdependent and the relationships are not of an "arms-length" type(-> IMP perspective)

The entrepreneurial ecosystem is fundamental or main, to favor business development, much better if considered under a regional development system, applicable to the characteristics of the region in particular.

The entrepreneurial ecosystem examines the determinants and dimensions of entrepreneurship that affect the emergence of new, innovative enterprises, increase in the scale of production and innovations in existing companies. It refers to the development of the policy of local entrepreneurial ecosystems in the context of smart regional specialization.

The innovation ecosystem examines the potential of innovation, entities and instruments to inspire the innovation process in universities, enterprises and regions. Innovation is supported by a high level of "talents" based on educational qualifications, good access to financing, generation of new knowledge (from public and private organizations), business services and networks between entrepreneurs.

@ Dear Mohamed, the first thing you have to do, I think is to define SDB and EE clearly. What is according to you the link between both. Are they linked in a certain way? If that is not the case why you want to link them? What do you want to prove by the linkage?

I think EE will be better considered as Business Development Strategy. You however must define clearly the Entrepreneurship Eco-system and set objectives & goals for the strategy to work effectively. Both ( Model or Strategy) can be used as long as the Methodology is clear.

This is an interesting perspective to take. I, and others, have argued that the developers of EEs are social entrepreneurs. The EE, itself, could be considered an enterprise. Consequently, developing a business model for the EE could prove useful. I would encourage you to frame the EE as a social enterprise, however, because its ultimate goal is to create community or regional economic development. This also opens the door to thinking about the economic inequality aspects of ecosystem development.
