People have an innate trust of their Primary Care Providers (PCP). For those that can't rely on a PCP due to socio-economic conditions or location, there needs to be an effort by medical providers to develop a trusting relationship, however brief.
That being said, the recommendation for COVID-19 vaccination by news media and government agencies, regardless of what country one lives in, are viewed with suspicion and distrust due to various agendas, real or perceived.
Regardless of government permanent approval status, the message of safety and efficacy must come from PCP and other healthcare providers
People tend to believe the messages received from people they trust, not strangers with whom there is no emotional or social relationship. So, no, CODID-19 vaccination hesitancy will not change until the messengers change.
The issue of vaccine hesitancy is prevalent and emdedded in the society due to other factors that don't involve approval of the A and will still remain, however we should do as much as we can regarding the awareness of the efficacy and importance of vaccines.
People in different places are not ready to be vaccinated, how anyone can convince those all for this. There are already many vaccines available in market.
Well, I am sure of one thing, that some persons will take the jab if FDA gives full approval to Pfizer, but the problem remains that most people don't listen to the government anymore, the truth between the institution and the people are at it's lowest, it's evident in the events happening around the world amid a global pandemic, as I said earlier, people will get the jab anyway, but most conservatives will stick to their notion of freedom of choice and may likely have to be forced against their belief to have it.
In summary, people that have been awaiting major clarity will be satisfied by the decision but we still have a small number that won't be moved by FDA's decision.
Thank you Norbert Vilmos Molnár , Aadil Javed , Hermann Gruenwald and Wazir Ali . I believe very soon we will all know if this FDA's decision influences many to take the jab.
Do you think the covid19 vaccine hesitancy will end with the full approval of the Pfizer vaccine?
No, still a large number of people doubted the effectiveness of all types of vaccines and their unknown adverse effects. In addition to the several mutations in the virus and the probability of needing a third dose of vaccine. All together maybe questionable………
Thank you Bushra Hussain Shnawa . It is a very interesting time, the new strains of the virus, the need for a third dose and hesitancy are surely complicating the pandemic.
FDA’s full approval of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine could be key to tackling vaccine hesitancy. The approval is also expected to spur vaccine mandates https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsls.com/news/local/2021/08/23/fdas-full-approval-of-pfizer-covid-19-vaccine-could-be-key-to-tackling-vaccine-hesitancy/%3foutputType=amp
Yes, with approval of Pfizer I think the vaccine hesitancy will be reduced by a certain fraction. Some people are still waiting to see how effective the vaccine will be after feedback from those fully vaccinated.
Hi Dr Okuthe P Kogeda . We don’t know . Let us wait and see. We can’t judge till we see the results with time . This is the scientific method to approve any experiment.
I think the FDA approval of Pfizer sent a clear message to vaccine hesitant people that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is both safe and effective. There is evidence from clinical trials and surveillance of about 92 million vaccinated Americans about the safety of the vaccines. I think some unvaccinated people will get the shot because of the approval but many who are uneducated will still be hesitant.
As Aref Wazwaz so correctly pointed out, the scientific method must be followed. I would prefer that science and the science of medicine be followed, rather than the unscientific dictates of politics.
