The evaluation pattern has changed from achievement evaluation to performance, qualitative or acquisition evaluation. Is this type of evaluation better than traditional evaluation? Why?
I agree with you on this, although I root for a testing-free utopia. Similar case in the United States, should it go republican or democratic? (e.g., look at J.D Vance and Bordieu's capital theories). In China, traditional assessment can actually greatly helps those disadvantaged to share the same opportunities with those who possess resources. It is a debatable issue as politics can change people's perceptions about assessment. Personally speaking, diverse assessment methods seems do good to people's long term performances. So, vision is important.
