A Professor spent over 30 years at University X where all his research and publications are attributed to University X. Now he moved to University Y. He removed University X from his profile at google scholar, ResearchGate, etc. has he the right to do so? Has University X no right in all works he conducted under its umbrella?
A professor has the right to update their current affiliation on their profile and to add any new publications or research done at their current institution to their profile. Even though the professor may have switched to another university, the work they conducted while employed at the previous university is still associated with that institution, and they should not erase that contribution.
Google Scholar's profile is a personal page and its owner has the right to enter the latest and most recent information about himself. Therefore, changing the place of employment has no obstacle legally.
The name of the previous university is available on the previous articles and there will be no problem in terms of intellectual property.

I do agree, but let me put it this way: Webometrics ranking considers 10% to the top 310 scholars. If the top 20 scholars of the university X moved to University Y, what will be the impact on both Universities? I think it will be positive on Y (even if no new publications) and negative on X. It is about intellectual properties.
