π - Mathematics plays an important role in transforming the human society by being a language of science and discovery. A language of critical thinking and reasoning and a method of validating truth. Indeed, sciences and technology of this century are benefited from the galaxy of mathematics in studying, analyzing, searching and validating solutions of problems.
The month of April is therefore used to recognize these vast contributions of mathematics to humankind.
What activities do you do in your place of work, either high school, college or university during this month to recognize mathematics ?
I was born on the first of April. By education I am mathematician.

Mahfuz, Ljumbomir, It does look like this is a new thing for many of you, but here in America, the American Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association of America designate April as a Mathematics Awareness Month and celebrate the month by doing some kinds of activities, such as presenting posters, writing articles and poems about mathematics or any of the interesting mathematical objects such as π,e or i that interests the individual. I think it is a good thing to do that so that young students become aware of mathematics, its history and its contributions to the development of society.

For me, every month is mathematical awareness month! Treating April as a time to celebrate mathematics is a good idea, since we are witnessing the beginning of spring: lots of sunshine and lots of enlightenment.
