Yes, I am loving my job by the way to do it. It is because people care about my professional growth. Being my own boss, I love that I have flexibility in my schedule.
Dear all, my Situation is different but interesting...
I left my first science education AS molecular biologist (BSc) due to the lack of lifelong prospect (in Germany two year contracts only) and went into public service (with a lifetime contract).
I did another LLB, a PhD, two Master degrees (LLM and MA) and am Working and publishing in other fields than before (public law, business, economic, management, legal history)...
But I am mostly keeping my scientific and scholarly view of the world...
And I am free to switch my job internally and privately free to write and publish papers...
Mostly all jobs I did were interesting and challenging, and when I got tired I did the next one - though I keep working in circles and get doing the things I did earlier in another combination or better paid...
Dear Dr. Sinaga! One must love his or her job to stay long in a field. Researching logistics and supply chain networks have become over time hypercompetitive, so as government has cut huge amount of finance from the universities in Finland during the 5 past years, one must increasingly become a "multi-tasking" - engineer to be able to survive. Please see:
Maija S. Peltola (2019). "For academics, well-being at work does not just mean exercise breaks" The Finnish Union of University Researchers and Teachers, Press Releases, 11.12.2019, Available at: https://tieteentekijoidenliitto.fi/en/material/press_releases/for_academics_well-being_at_work_does_not_just_mean_exercise_breaks.3425.news
Citation: "We still have a long way to go before reaching this goal, but together we can make sure that we are heading in the right direction. We must work at every level to improve academics’ coping and well-being at work."
These days a researcher must handle administrative tasks and negotiate new deals for the benefit of all around him/her - in this case there is little time left for the actual relevant issues such as researching, publishing, supervising, etc. Hereby please let me state, I do no love this context and the work involved. Still there is no much option left. Yours sinceely, Bulcsu Szekely
Yes, I'm really happy with my job. Being able to teach at the university and at the same time writing, doing research is something that fascinates me. I believe that in this way I can realize myself in my work. On the one hand I am personally satisfied and on the other hand I do something good for the others.
We have to love & respect our job as it is the question of our career & future development of our progress . With this, if we are not satisfied with our job we should find out the reason for dissatisfaction & we have to find out our own witness in our development & try to meet the colleges or our seniors to find out from their opinion & guidance.
A good question, especially we live in a country called Iraq, and the state and its enemies have cowered more than its enemies abroad, meaning a forbidden garrison. I am not satisfied with my job as I was assigned to a job that has nothing to do with the department or college that I graduated from and that is why I am unhappy. Please excuse me if there is a mistake as I am weak in English Thank you all
If you are always high on your job I would worry about you...really. You should have doubts about what you work at always. There is no pure good work unless you think you are god...this is worriesome. Having a life is accepting you do good and bad, causing trouble even sometimes...nobody is pure whatever your intentions are. Your research could always be used for "bad" motives unfortunately.
"What's terrible is to pretend that second-rate is first-rate. To pretend that you don't need love when you do; or you like your work when you know quite well you're capable of better."
I love my job. If we wont love what we are doing, then it will be clearly visible in the output we deliver. Its better to love what we are doing otherwise just quit it.Love and self satisfaction are must in what ever work we are doing.
