Teaching is blend of many methods, we follow some methods that we felt inspirational, when we were students, and new technology, new generation, we have to adopt many methodologies to make learning interesting and engaging (not an easy task). Most importantly, what methodologies students prefer, we have to go with their preferences, to make learning happen.

Teaching has so may domains like learning , exploring, innovation. framing, designing, consolidating etc. so i do prefer the blended approach to keep the intrest alive among students, peers and learners.

The nature of my learners dictates the choice of the teaching methods I adopt leveraging on methods suggested by the curriculum and learning activities.

Teaching is a blend of methods acquired and those we have become familiar with over the years. These methods however should also take into consideration the learning styles of the students we teach and the curriculum being used at the time.

Teaching is not a question of what is in the teacher's mind but what is in the student's mind and how that transfer occurs. I have learned that no single method works for every student so I have formed small groups that share the same methods of learning and created a combination of reading, discussing, writing, and student teaching students that gets a lesson completed. Sharing short papers from each student in a group seems to work the best as each can concur with others that they have the basic concepts and are using them to explore other new ideas. Outside readings in journals shared in writing short descriptions of the idea content, then discussed in small groups of commonly interested students has worked the best for successfully passing required examinations.

It is a mixture. What I learned is good. However, my experiences have taught me what works and what does not. Doctrine is fine, but your job is to pass the knowledge to your students in a way that they understand and comprehend it.

Many methods, in fact the method used that we have to adjust to the facilities and infrastructure according to conditions and situations. Our observations show that teaching methods tend to be in accordance with the abilities and abilities possessed by each individual.

It truly depends upon your abilities and, especially, what you are comfortable with, however. There are efficient methods that one is not accustomed to, yet one has outstanding results — so, the answer applies to what one's objectives are; and how one wills to attain those goals.

In my opinion, I usually create my own system of learning/teaching when I study certain topics, which gives me much better outcomes than having a specific and pure system of learning, specifically, because I can make a hybrid-system using the essential aspects of what I learn/teach; and so helps me achieve the goals I myself have proposed.

I have been taught in the 90's when some of the current active methodologies were born. But, unfortunately we did not have the resources to apply them. Nonetheless, most of my teachers were focused into a value-based education such as: friendship, honesty, integrity...

Nowadays, the implementation of active methodologies (cooperative learning, flipped classroom, PBL; project based learning...) carries the forgetfulness of the previous mentioned values.

In summary, blending both methods and emphasizing an education based on values could produce the real significant learning and results.

Teaching and learning have changed significantly over the last 20-30 years. The focus now on student-centred learning, deep understanding, development of cognitive thinking, abilities to make the right decisions, looking for evidence, and demonstrating skills and professional behaviour, About 30 years ago the focus of teaching was on knowledge and memorization of facts. These are not anymore the central part of teaching and learning.

The knowledge you have and your developed method in teaching should be combined with resources from others who have different teaching experiences thus different approaches to teaching and come up with what is best for the learning styles of students.

Teachers should always work on themselves to learn new skills and new techniques. If they did not, I think they will become behind and will loose a lot.

A good teacher will always marry their own way of teaching with the student's learning ability....the teaching and learning must always be backed with equal enthusiasm

I learned a very traditional approach based on following a textbook with lecture--teacher fo used. If you were to see me today you would see a more student-centered approach with the teacher being a facilitator or coach. In addition, through facilitating rather than lecture, you would see more small group instruction that would allow for individualized support. This change has occurred due to my own desire to change and focused and sustained professional development over the years.

In my opinion, there is no own teaching method, what the teacher uses as a teaching. You can always be described this own methods and assigned to existing teaching methods in literature. In addition, each method must have its own scientific context. Otherwise it will be action of socialization, not pedagogical.

I preferred my own teaching method since I consider the learning styles of my students. They come in different talents and preferences and there are many ways to learning.

I believe that demonstrating and collaboration are the most effective teaching methods at the secondary school. The side benefit is the development of communication skills and teamwork. However, I have experience with all main teaching methods, including explanation, demonstration, learning by teaching, as well as some unorthodox methods, for example learning by playing. When I prepare my lesson plans, I always think carefully about that and try to apply the most suitable methods in each lesson. I always try to mix it up, so the students experience the unknown, and the lessons are not routine, or boring.

I can’t say that I prefer one method to another. Each method has certain benefits and should be applied in some situations. In one class I may prefer explaining, especially if pupils struggled with discipline. Then in some other classes, students are more creative, so I may prefer collaborating. I typically try to apply various methods and observe the reaction of the students, measuring both their progress and interest. After a few lessons, I typically know which method works with them, and which does not.

I prefer my method of teaching because it is mix of what I learned, what I gained from my teaching experience and trying to avoid what I did not like when I was student.

I am very grateful for the teaching styles I have learnt from my colleagues in my life. Where to stand in a classroom, how to move, how to manage low-level behaviour before it becomes disruptive, how to use my voice. How to use drama and kinaesthetic activities. How humour can help, how to get students inside and working immediately, how to diffuse student tension. If ever you can get the opportunity to do a learning walk; go and visit all your colleagues; their styles can become your style. Get a great palate and then adapt to the needs of your students.

Commenting about the old and new methods of teaching, thanks to Eman R. Adeeb, and Hassan Kamil Ressn, I like the discussion. I want to say here, in the history of Problem-Based Learning and Case-Based Learning, these methods were used by Socrates about 400 years BC. Socrates used brief scenarios with his students (about 12-18) to challenge them, then they go to search for answers and come back to him after a few hours, then as the discussion continues, new questions arise, and they have to search for answers. Jesus used parables (short stories to teach) to stimulate the thinking, engage his disciples and the audience, simplify the profound spiritual truth and make a concept central behind the story and the events. There are over 43 parables in the bible told by Jesus. Scenarios also leave a long-term memory effect about what we learn. These are the basis of case-based learning that we use in clinical medicine, ethics, professionalism, patient safety, and psychology. These methods appear to be new; they are not. Maybe all we did we expanded these principles and developed theories of learning to explain them and worked more on details through continuing research. However, the effects and beauty of the parables are still practical to this day.

The teaching method that I used depends on the students I teach. I learned about differentiated instruction and I always infuse it in my teaching process. Therefore, what I know and what I learn complements one another. It makes my teaching method innovative and unique.

I think that there is no teaching method suitable for every time and every subject, and certainly there is no teaching method that is completely bad or totally successful.

   I choose the method of teaching that I find appropriate for the educational situation and according to the type of subject and the type of students, whether old or modern.
