I need to use Filmetrics F20 (http://www.filmetrics.com/thicknessmeasurement/f20) to measure the thickness of tio2 layer coated on FTO glass used as a working electrode in dye sensitized solar cell DSSCs. Can anyone use this device in similar work tell me the procedure?
the reseller of filmetrics I know (Germany) were always very kind to help me in those situations.
you need your optical constants of your substrate.. then you fit your response curve assuming a thickness of TiO2 to get the optical density and extinction of the film. Or you assume the optical parameters to get a thickness..
you need to do some research on those optical values..
Lukas Alberts, I already have the refractive indices of TiO2 and FTO. But, I did not understand what do you mean by fitting the response curve?
the filmetrics measures a interferometric spectra..
this one is to be fitted by optical formulas depending on your film structure..(2 or 3 layers..)
the user software does this for you.. check the manuals.
but some free tools may be available on the net too.. it is a long time I used this..
