It’s a trip that may led you to understand the laws of nature and the human brain. therefore, we find the sometimes luck, in casinos, basketball and some other fields
To me luck is an opportunity arrives to the right person, at the right place on the right time. Luck is something good to have but don't rely on it in order to achieve success / complete one's work - luck might come or might not. We should not stop to work smart & work hard to increase the probability of luck happening.
We are the architect of our own fortune & for this luck is also essential . But we cannot keep our hand fore headed to wait for the luck .As it has been observed that if we are sincere in our approach ,method ,thinking in a right & honest manner ,it is very likely that luck showers on us in our working method .
We can not afford to wait for the luck come to us for which we have to first strive & labor for our action & in this case destiny which may come to our help but destiny is not in our hand & in this case we have to change our method for the better result .
Luck is a fortunate event that has happened by chance. As such, you can create an opportunity for a fortunate event such as gambling on a horse or buying a lottery ticket. It does not mean it will come in first and you get 'lucky', it could just as soon come plum last. Similarly, you may - like millions of other players - not win the lottery. Sure, you had a chance, and as they say, you have to be in it to win it, but you are merely opening the door for luck, not insisting that it walk through.
I don't like the notion of someone being lucky - it implies someone has somehow acquired a kind of spell that means they are more fortunate than most. This isn't possible; everything is just happenstance. Moreover, a lottery winner might consider themselves lucky as they have lots of money and possessions. But a relatively poor person might consider themselves lucky just for having a loving partner or a family or a job that pays the rent. This then leads to the realm of perspectives and societal / cultural values on the acquisition of money and things over manners or positive emotions.
I think luck is like religion. We use it to explain things that have occurred randomly and by chance. We can say someone is lucky for this or that reason, but they may only be lucky because you covet the things they have. Their own perspective may be very different.

Basically, luck is something like the creation of the mind of individual to appease oneself in a case of the unsuccessful attempts. I suppose luck is not a lock to open for some and closes for others! It does not extrinsically exits
Both. And it also depends what people mean when they say "luck." Sometimes, it's not luck at all, but rather the result of hard work and deductive reasoning.
Your luck is partially made by you. Cicero says that free will is a condition to fate."if all things happen by fate, all things happen with an antecedent cause". He also states that it is in a man power to achieve virtue for .himself. if you are really interested in such matter, read ON FATE by the author aboved mentioned. DE FATO in Latin.
Sheer hard work may not be sufficient. Luck in the form of opportunity is required to be there. And then it is also important to be able to identify the opportunity and utilisation of it to the best possible extent.
First: Do you make your own luck? In Germany exists a general proverb: "We are the creators of our happiness." It is realy true? I Think half and a half.
Second: Does luck make you? Naturally luck is a very good supporter for myself.
But should one rely on its happiness? In the Rhineland exists a proverb: "It has still always well gone", as an expression of the joy of life and not of arrogance.
To rely only on happiness, called actually to play with his life. Luck as a drive is o.K.
In my opinion, the Danish fairy tale poet Hans Christian Andersen (1805 - 1875) gives the best answer: "Life alone is not enough, said the butterfly, sunshine, freedom, and a small flower must one also have."
Thank you to invite me to this question. Luck can appear to be magical and there are some seemingly magic elements involved. However, if you really understand how life works, you can easily see how to make your life luckier.
"Luck is not in your hands. But the decision is in your hands. Your decision can make luck, but luck can never make your decision.. So always trust yourself… "
Luck--the use of muses and other characters such as the Eutychia, the Greek goddess of good fortune, or Fortuna from Romans, is long documented in mythology. Even discussion of the role of 'fortune' or 'destiny' is part of continued, heightened discussions in Italian culture during the time and influence of Machiavelli. I wrote (and have attached) a very early paper for a doctoral class at the U of Central Florida that could logically place the argument if rewritten today that civic engagement could be a primary factor in achieving the rewards of good fortune such as power, leadership, or influence. Ironically, the argument may be circular because civic engagement often means being in the right place at the right time but what gives man or woman the impetus to be in that place or time that becomes ‘right?’ Luck as a virtue because of persistence can also be brought into this circle. Perhaps my conclusions that the appearance of a persona of virtue such as luck makes someone more likely to be an acceptable leader and thus, likely to gain the favor that goes along with the spoils of power. So to answer the original question, “Do you make your own luck or does luck make you?” may have an alternate response. That is, “Can others make your luck once you engage in ideas for which they are interested?” By this same token we can begin to understand it is not only a matter of "I think, therefore I am" but also "Others believe I can think, therefore I am better."
Think Louis Pasteur: " chance favours only the prepared mind" (Quote probably not exact). You have to be aware of luck to grab it as it passes. The nice story I heard was of Paul Bartsch at the Smithsonian. He noticed that slugs reacted to furnace gases that he could not detect. This was used by by US troops in WW1 to detect gas attacks, and give time to put on gas masks. Would you have noticed the slugs?
I addressed the problematic of luck in two contexts:
(1) in explaining social inequality (e.g. luck versus intelligence as explanatory variables of "success") (see "Intelligence and Environmental Complexity")
(2) in the more abstract discussion of whether the world is contingent or necessary (see "Beware of Contingency")
I don't believe in luck. A sense of luck make things random, creates chaotic universe. I don't believe in random. Fate is a choice one can make. I can control my fate. We are human, we shouldn't underestimate our capability to make a decision which could change our life for the better or worse. There is no such thing as luck in my world.
From a research point of view, human life is affected by random events (i.e., place of birth, socioeconomic level of our parents, some diseases, mother language, and others). We face different random events; some of them are considered to be good and others bad. In that context, we must not forget that we have a margin of freedom an will as human beings. The fact that we are free, generates the same time randomness in many events of our lives, and makes random important feature in social research (i.e., in social forecasting and prespective).
