Is the moth from Colombia? I guess it is not going to be easy to get a reliable identification on the photo alone, but indeed the insect looks much alike the Ecuadorian one in the image linked by Chris!
Dear Enrique, thanks for your comment. The moth is in effect from Colombia and is affecting achira (Canna edulis) crops in several regions.

Moth larvae consume unfolded youngest leaves (cogollos) and prevent the leaves from normally unfolded which in turns produce in some cases rooting of the vegetative area. What crops are affected in Lima?
