Please describe your method and parameters.

Maybe you try to impose a too high current (in chronopotentiometry) or potential (in chronoamperometry).

Try also to replace the reference electrode.

We have two OGF devices in the laboratory. OrigaFlex 500 does not give any errors with the same conditions of connections and electrodes, but OrigaFlex 01A constantly gives errors.

Sequence setting:

In the START icon verify that your cell is configured with 3 (not 2) electrodes.

Add END icon.

Operational parameters

Set Potential 0 = OCP

Verify your instrument

Replace the cell by a common resistor (1...10 kohm). Connect WORK wire to one end and AUX+ REF wires to the other end.Use the same sequence (CV). The record must be a graph/line in agreement with the Ohm law.

If the graph was correct in these conditions, does it indicate that the device is working properly?

If I set the zero potential to Ocp, the method will run, but its CV shape will change or it will not be possible to set the Ocp potential for coulometry. We must use the special oxidation potential , in which case it will give an error.

Verify (in the START icon) that your cell will be configured in a 3-electrodes' mode.

Replace, for the moment, your actual cell by a dummy cell[1] having, only two, ordinary, Ohmic, commercial resistors[2,3].

1) Connect AUX wire (CE) to terminal N#1.

2) Connect REF wire (RE) to terminal N#2.

3) Connect WORK (WE) wire (and Ground wire) to terminal N#3.

So, the delivered CV 'shape/record' will show as a line/graph in agreement with a part of an Ohm law, plan, in all cases; all cases, have a nominal parameter (preset inside your software scheduled conditions) OCP:

either for the, common, case with a, nominal, zero potential, condition,

or a(ny) small (~ < 1V) non-zero, virtual, 'exceptional OCP', (as an conditional) value.
