I have a set of finished samples for immunofluorescence antibody analysis, but by applying the mounting medium a large number of microbubbles, appeares, would it be possible to replace it at this point?
We have been using Fluoromount G as the mounting medium, we usually don't get microbubbles if we handle it carefully with minimal stirring. If you have added it already and saw microbubbles, you can always dip the whole slide in a container (e.g., 50ml conical tube) filled with PBS, the coverslip should fall off within 30min and with 2-3 times of wash with PBS, you should be able to add new mounting media of your choice.
This medium likely serves to prepare slides or mounts for immunofluorescence microscopic observation, providing a suitable environment for the sample while preserving its structure. If you have any specific questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask!
