what nucleus are you interested in? For standard proton NMR, a 1.5 T machine is running at 60 MHz, a 3 T at 120 MHz.

Hi Murat,

if you're interested in MRI of heteronuclei such as deuterium, you'll not be able to use off-the-shelf MRI equipment but rather you need to find a centre where they build the RF equipment themselves. A group in Germany who have been quite active in that field is the one of Lothar Schad in Mannheim. I don't think they've done something with deuterium but for example they've worked a lot with sodium imaging.

What kind of samples do you intend to study? The low natural abundance of deuterium might be a real challenge. Enriching deuterium in living specimens is also a limited option as most organisms tend to die at elevated deuterium levels.
