Before about 30 years ago, I was child and I remember that in our small city (Alexandria) there was an excellent cultural center and Summer Open Cinema (SOC) beside that a tidy cafeteria, basket ball, The British Cultural Council (I was follower there!), free drawing wall(s), fresh milk to be presented for children for free, many foot ball zones with different areas, beauty saloons for ladies and for boys, really many other brilliant facilities, but after the multiple wars every things went and we are (not all) just facing laptops and internet.

Really this is my story with cultural saloon.

Interesting and very similar in what I am going to do in the new academic year. I have now  my  saloon that has about 100 posters tell the story of Egyptian pioneers in Home Economics in Egypt, in addition to many of their books and some collected equipment. Small part of the saloon has my CV in pictures, my books and my collections. We plan also to invite a key speaker every 2-3 months to give a talk about a pioneer in Home Economics. As we believe in generosity cakes and tea will be provided.

we dont have cultural saloons as such but people do gather at some particular places in societies and in towns. these are usually small group of people with various topics ranging from politics to social issues. 

This cultural Saloon idea sounds pretty interesting though.

Yes disputes is a problem specifically in political saloons. If you have clear rules and your members accept that do your saloon and follow the rules you set with the members.

Thank you for participation with different experience. I would like to announce that I have opened my Saloon on 6th of October 2017 and would like to invite you to see the exhibition of my saloon in the attached pictures.

Cultural saloons demonstrate cultural integrity of the society. Villages had a culture in India, but hunger of development and growth, gave rise to cities. Societies are scattered in the cities, and societal and cultural inegrity also.
