I am familiarized with the modified Williamson-Hall method, so I have some theoretical and experimental background on the XRD microstructural analysis. I've tried some softwares to perform the Warren-Averbach analysis, but I would like to create my own program.

Dear Henry, probably I was among the few to prepare my own computer program in Balgol Coding as a MSc. term project for the Advanced X-Ray Metallography Course offered in Spring Quarter at Stanford in 1961, using the Fourier decomposition method for the convolution analysis. I used MgO powder as a sample to determine the particle size distribution function. I had only the following original literature available at that time. I didn't have any difficulties because of my sound Math. background.

Later years I offered few MS thesis using the Fast Fourier Transform to determine the strain and grain size distributions in cold- worked Alpha Brass etc. at METU. Those kids they were all boys from Pakistan and Iran, and did excellent jobs without my too much couching. That means YOU CAN DO THE SAME THING without any outside help. BEST REGARDS
I have also worked intensively with the XRD analysis to study the temperature dependent segregation kinetics of solute atoms to stacking faults in Cu-Zn alloys especially alpha terminal solid solutions. In order to eliminate various experimental errors I have chosen to work out with the convolution analysis in the Fourier space that I can use at the computation stage the Fast Fourier analysis as a numerical tool. I have published two comprehensive papers .

The second paper furnishes rigorous mathematical analysis of diffusion to stacking faults as boundary value problem by using Laplace transformation in discrete nonlinear space? to get a mathematical expression, which reduces to Adam's formula for segregation to grain boundaries if the solubility is linear!!!!I have worked out with thermodynamics of segregation in multicomponent system.
I would recommend to you in reading the second paper. May be you get that from the RG.
