Hate speech makes people think about what the hateful person said, for some reason he said something bad about someone. Maybe you can't immediately believe the hate speech. If what he said is true then it would be nice if the thing conveyed was with constructive criticism. If what is said is wrong, the intention of the hated person can be explained about the purpose of the person doing so.

Great question and replies. Science and its related research, at its basis is peaceful, as it attempts to understand all the differing perspectives, via a better understanding, that enables enhanced knowledge and thus far more propensity for peace. Education should definitely reflect this and should encourage a multiple perspective approach that is hopefully void of 'centrisms' from any culture, but embraces an overall human culture of social, environmental and climate sustainability, prosperity (social economy) and peace.

As an advocate of family mediation as a primary means of resolving parenting, support and property division issues that arise on the breakdown of marital and intimate partner relationships, it is imperative that the mediator have a clear and informed understanding of the significance of family violence on the mediation process so that any imbalance of power can be addressed and due account taken of the impact of family violence on any children. The mediation of family disputes presupposes the absolute rejection of violence and the promotion of peaceful settlement without recourse to the adversarial professes that epitomize the resolution of family disputes by contested proceedings before the courts.

The active promotion of peace keeping and the prevention of violence, particularly intimate partner violence, shoould be emphasized by academics regardless of their particular expertise in the social sciences or dispute resolution services. It should also be epitomized in their daily lives. Disputes and conflict face everyone during their lives. The response to such challenges must be constructive and premised on the condemnation of violence and the search for constructive peace keeping.

It is an obligation, a duty and I would even dare to say a priority, as people who have a certain moral, ethical and academic influence on others.
I hope that when I did my research 'Living with faecal incontinence' (plus a 5 and a 10 year follow-up) that as I did it from the nursing perspective, that my message is passed on as when I saw clients with bladder or bowel problems to try to improve their lives.
I retired at the end of 2012 but still sometimes see people who I advised. I don't usually remember them because there were so many of them. Similarly, I sometimes see people (nurses and carers) who remember me teaching them. But unless I worked with a professional over time, I don't remember them. There was one 'me' in the lecture room but a lot of people who were listening to me. But I tried to make the talks positive and apart from one memorable time, I always got good evaluation sheets, bless them.
I've always tried to imbue my students with the spirit of critical thinking, from which I believe the spirit of love and the rejection of hatred follow. Peace and the rejection of violence are a different matter, since they are not always a reasonable possibility; for peace to be viable, both opponents must agree to it. Pacificism can be suicide. Loving one's enemy shouldn't amount to relinquishing the right to self-defence. Emotional attitudes can reasonably differ in tone from practicable actions.

Definitely yes. From beginning of life on earth there is violence and there is justice and mercy. But always there is struggle against evil and seeking to dominate justice and love among humans.
As academics, our duty is not only giving academic lectures but we should breed goodness and noble and splendid ethics and morals in our students for they are the future. We do hope future on earth be filled with good deeds, no slavery, no violence, no crimes, but roses of purity and noble thoughts and beliefs predominate the universe.

The basis of research and science is a desire to know, to understand, not to "spread love, peace, harmony, and the rejection of violence" - whatever that silliness means in application. Research and academics should pursue/teach to their nominal objectives as a contractual obligation. Hijacking the process to indoctrinate is not appropriate in a free society, comrade.
I understand the state has a rational need to establish fidelity at early stages of development.
I notice one troublesome trend.
The younger generation of scholars is more career-oriented. They can do a lot to get attention and I am not writing about spreading love here. Therefore, personally I like being around senior scholars. They have class.
