i totally agree that selfishness and greediness is governing the world; people want more and more at the price of others' suffering and pain. instead of altruistic views, sheer self-centered ideas are managing our activities. isnt it a decline in ethics?

Ethics represent philosophy of 'Right' or 'Wrong' and in democracy individuals following supreme law of country is correct under definition of ethics as best ideology incorporated by safeguarding inherent rights of individuals, via protection by efficient institutions.
Yes, I agree with you. The main contributing factors include degradation of education system, influence of mass media, technological innovations and globalization.
Nice question from Marcelo Negri Soares. Yes, ethical value is decreasing in our society and in some quarters going into extinction and we seem not bother about it. The causative agents include civilization, influence of social media, corruption, greed, inability of parent to create more time for children, faulty education curriculum, and so on.
Yes, ethical values are decreasing; example, our English faculty shared with us her experience about the word ,bitch, (sorry I am using this word just to explain). She told us that her daughter used the word on social media ,bitch ways, as normal routine conversation among friends (our faculty was quite upset with the use of this B word); fine, it is only a word, but small steps lead to giant leaps. One of the factor of decreasing or vanishing moral values that we have accepted (keeping silence) and normalized the things that were not considered normal before.
Prof. Marcelo Negri Soares , I would not disagree with the declination of ethical values. lack of socializing, lack of critical thinking among pedestrians can be influential factors.
Your question is very important. I do not think that the values have decreased. Perhaps what happens is that cultural multiversity shows different types of hierarchical values, which do not have the same degrees of importance among themselves. However, communication technologies and social networks often show aspects that conflict with what is expected should be a behavior consistent with a minimum of values. But it happens that we are exposed to a greater number of opinions, information, lifestyles and that may be an element to take into account in this interesting reflection that you have proposed.
Yes, we live difficult time for our new and future generations, there is an incredible loss of values, the factors can be bad education, no desire to study, too much freedom and lack of control of adolescents and the excessive use of technology that does not benefits
Wrong. Completely wrong. People are gradually, with a few dramatic exceptions, becoming more ethical. The nature of ethics is being better understood. Morals are largely subjective and are not ethics. Don't confuse the two.
