Experts believe that a major catastrophe could occur in African countries that might affect the whole world. In regions such as Subsaharan Africa, “long COVID” in millions of people with HIV paves the road for the more frequent emergence of new variants. Cancer patients also help the virus evolve and even escape immune responses. This is the reason that we have previously discussed why it is more unethical not to investigate "selective pressure-free" treatment methods such as low dose radiotherapy for COVID-19 in Africa.
