Dear Ali, It is not about the technique but my worry is about the standards, for antibiotics, we have standards for the quantity of drug in discs, we have standards for saying a pathogen sensitive or resistant but for herbal antimicrobials everything is jumbled and available information is of little scientific utility. One who is using a drug in hundreds of mg to conclude the herb as antimicrobial other set a limit in micro gm. The whole literature is full of claims of praising herbal antimicrobials but little is concrete to conclude.
I think the testing is to limitate the suseptibility in an exeptable range. High Conzentration is often not suseptible. Important is what is the antimicrobial agens is it saponin...... And how could ypu neutralize it. In herbal the problem is one year the concentration is high and good and it is like a good year for wine..... and another problem is that in herbal there are many different agens, which are antimicrobial and often the little parts make a perfect match its an synergic effect I mean.

I totally agree Bhoj. I think the final say would be the tolerability of the agent. If a herbal agent is active only in high concentrations, the question would be are these concentrations tolerable and intoxic when ingested in animal or clinical trials?
