Recently, I studied an article that has a lot computational and physical errors, but this journal is an "open access" journal. Thus, I wrote a comment paper on this article. Do I must pay publication fee for this comment?
Hi,Jaafar. I think open access means that the readers don't have to purchase the articles. I do not think it has anything to do with the authors. You still need to check their publishing policies since writing comments makes you an author.
Since the comment *is* a publication in the journal, it would seem reasonable that fees would be asked for, just as would be the case for any publication in the journal-open access means the authors pay the fees, so that readers don't have to.
