many studies on learner-centred education are subject specific to assess the impact on performance. however, i am looking for available research that links practicality of teaching a large class probably of more than 60 learners under 1 teacher using learner-centred methodologies
I assume you are referring to college students; however, there are differences in whether they are undergraduate or graduate students. Then there is the question of whether instruction will be online, classroom, or classroom with online assistance. The geographic area may have an affect due to differences in background and early education, as well.

There are a number of trials to use methods such as problem-based learning, designed for small groups of 8-12 students, to be used in larger groups. The paper by Kingsbury et al (2008) published in BMC Medical Education is a good example that you may explore:

Learner-centeredness is an issue of great significance in modern approaches to teaching and learning. The most important factor in learner-centered classes is the fact that students are very rarely homogeneous and the teacher should think of specific ways for sustaining cooperative learning (Kagan, 1992). Under such circumstances, the tasks and activities should target both weaker and stronger learners. Accordingly, the application of mixed level teaching involving tiered tasks and bias tasks can make a crucial difference.

My class heterogenous undergrad design class of 60 it is very challenging when individual mentoring is desired. Some group assignments with individual sub assignments and individual mentoring and group mentoring.... cooperatove Learning this Is challenging as the skills differ majorly amongst the individuals even within. A group . It’s a major challenge to create tasks yera after year when the strategy and assignment has to be different.
