A few days back i wanted to email to one of the editor to ask status of my paper but I was stopped to do so by my friend with the reason that my paper would be thrown in a corner.
I heard similar sort of wordings from my surroundings especially from young researchers.
Please share your experiences good or bad about this.

It is difficult to confirm or deny what you have indicated in the post about the behaviour of editors and reviewers. I have not such experience.
However, what I think is more common is the selection of reviewers by the editors that have not the appropriate professional qualification to review a manuscript, and the acceptance by the editors of the comments made by the reviewers without checking the appropriateness of the comments made by them.
With authors with experience and with an important number of publications, the situation could be different from the one facing young authors with a very small number of publications. In the last case, reviewers have a tendency to review the manuscript without taking too much interest in helping young authors to publish a manuscript and in general are very critics of their work. In the case of other authors, the situation could be somehow different, but you cannot exclude that in some cases the reviewers have no experience and professional qualification to carry out appropriate the work given by the editors.
Here the responsibility is in the first place of the editor, because he/she should take extreme care in the selection and approval of reviewers according to the content of the manuscript to be reviewed. But reviewers should also have responsibility in this case, because she/he should reject the revision of a manuscript that its contents do not fit within their professional qualification or experience.
The revision of a manuscript is a serious matter and editors and reviewers should be aware of this.
It depends on journal and article. You have to make a judicious choice of the journal in which you want to publish according to your discipline, the topic of your article and the type of your study: theoretical or empirical research, case study, quantitative or qualitative methodology,...I think that the first and delicate step is to selecting the appropriate journal among a multiple number of interesting journals.
Here , percentage of rejected papers more than acceptance even if its pure and new idea ...etc.
in my opinion senior editors don't accept someone else has a talent or the got as them professional qualification or experience.
I do not have such experience before and I do not think editors do that.
