Would I need to get samples for isotopic analysis across entire us to have a non-biased data set for that given year we are sampling butterflies? Or would others' datasets suffice?

It does not remain stable, eg for vineyards and wines in Europe must annually collect and construir a data bank for the isotope parameters.

The main cause is climate variability (T & C Pmm, ..etc)
