Definitely yes.....as conspecific eggs, frass and larval food are organically enriched substance that attract and stimulates female sand flies purposely for oviposition. Among the Phlebotomus argentipes, the only vector of kala-azar (or visceral leishmaniasis) on the Indian sub-continent. Sandflies prefer to oviposit their eggs on surfaces that contained organic substances, especially substances with an odour of decaying animal products and the remains of conspecific eggs (Kumar et al. 2013). 

Off course yes...the study has its scope in formulating effective control strategies, as traps baited with pheromones as explampified in case of Lutzomyia longipalpis and currently being optimized in case of P. argentipes-the Indian VL vector.

Many literature elaborated the effect of semiochemical eliciting the behavioural response in sand flies new as well as old world sand flies.

You can go for establishing it in case of proposed specie.
