I plan to do an MTT assay to check for cell proliferation and plot a growth curve. My plan is to remove the media from cells at various timepoints, incubate them with MTT solution and then instead of dissolving the formazan crystals, let them dry and store them in the incubator (protected from light). At the end of the experiment, I can dissolve all formazan crystals in the plate together (we usually for Isopropanol for this). The estimated duration of storage for the first timepoint will be about a week. Do you think the formazan crystals can be stored in dark at 37C for so long or they may bleach?

You may leave the plate dry overnight in the dark and add the solubilization solution the next day. However, if you need to store the plate for a week, the plate should be well-dried and covered with aluminium foil and kept at 4 degree C. The formazan crystals remain stable for a week at 4 degrees C protected from light. You may try extending the time beyond one week at 4 degree C in the dark.

MTT is not a very much precise test on its own and making changes on it will probably affect your results. Especially, given that making with the changes, will give you a new variable in your experiments, which may affect your results. Thus, I propose you to use a multiple plates instead of taking the risk.
