Could anyone provide me with comprehensive reviews or articles demonstrating that certain marine organisms biosynthesize or accumulate (from external origin) prodrugs that are specifically detrimental to specific predators? In other words, these metabolites acting as prodrugs would be without any effects on non-predators, while active against predators, which “unfortunately” (for them) possess the biochemical machinery to transform the inactive pro-drug into an active compound detrimental for them.

Thank you for your help.

Robert
